Steve Chavez Lodge officially is an official candidate for Governor of the State of California in the upcoming Recall Election of California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Lodge, 62, has dedicated most of his adult life to public service. from his military service to fighting violent crime in the streets of Santa Ana as a Gang Homicide Detective. Steve also served the public in city and county positions as a Police Commissioner, Waste Management Commissioner, Budget Commissioner, and Senior Public Policy Advisor.
Lodge is also a small business owner who owns Lodge International LLC, which is a consulting company located in Orange County, CA
“California is completely broken, it is unrecognizable as the Golden State of the past. California’s future is being leveraged by career politicians like Newsom who have become the problem and not the solution. This is a fight for the financial future and standard of living of our children and grandchildren living in California. Together let’s get government out of our lives, off our backs, and out of our wallets,” said Lodge.
Lodge served his country in the United States Army, as an Arctic Paratrooper, and later was selected as the non-commissioned officer Adjutant to the Brigade Commander of the 172nd Airborne Infantry Brigade, in Alaska.
The Lodge for Governor campaign will focus on California’s key issues:
“We must put an end to the destructive government era that we are all impacted by once and for all. “As your California Governor, I will lead the charge to provide the policies and rule of law we need to restore California as the Golden State,” Lodge said, “As Governor my top priority will be to finally fix the homeless crisis. “This crisis is a fixable one,” Lodge explains. “We have always had a homeless population that existed in California. But never to this degree directly caused by incompetent government management. This is a failure of bad public policies, horrific legislation, and government never admitting when they are wrong”.
Correctional Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center
Let’s face it, the only way to solve the homeless crisis in California is to recognize the reasons and what is really causing this crisis. Retrofitting portions of the jails and prisons into Correctional Healthcare & Rehabilitation Centers is the right way to safely and securely accommodate the drug-addicted and alcoholics during custody. Getting the mandatory treatment that they need is absolute. Any other plan without secure detox and rehabilitation is just political grandstanding and a complete waste of time and money. Housing does not work without treatment for the cause of their homelessness.
The mentally ill need our help in getting back to treatment and back on needed medications. Reopening some of the Mental Facilities is a must. It is time to show true compassion for the homeless, but with realistic expectations. They must own their rehabilitation along with the responsibility to themselves and to society. Much will be given, and much will be asked. If the individual fails to cooperate within their rehabilitation. Then the rule of law will be enforced, and like everyone, they will be expected to follow the law.
The High Cost of California Living, Government Caused
The cost of living in California is simply too much for average California’s trying to make ends meet. Did you ever wonder how we can have so much crude oil in offshore reserves with the refineries right here in California? Yet we still have the highest gasoline costs in the nation? Our state income taxes are the highest in the nation as well. Our cost of housing is ridiculous. But instead of the government making life better, the constant barrage of increased regulations and bureaucratic red tape just keeps driving up the costs. We need common sense back in public policy and legislation. It can be done and with your help, we can Make California, California Again.
Protect Proposition 13
Proposition 13 enacted in 1978 protects ALL property owners from the government’s raising of their property taxes and is in fact a California Constitutional Amendment. Newsom and his gang in Sacramento have an endless appetite for tax and spend politics. They have been trying to weaken this amendment for years. This can not be tolerated.
California’s Water Supply
California has not built a hydroelectric dam in 42 years. Yet California’s population has doubled from 20 million to 40 million people, all using water. Drought is not the problem, it’s water retention and storage. It is the primary duty of the government to provide clean water, clean air, and infrastructure necessary to the public’s needs. We will repair this broken system and make sure there is water for not only the public but for businesses and the farmers in the central valley who grow our food.
California Wildfires have always been a danger and part of our landscape. We have brush that grows in the winter months with rain and dries to a crackly crunch in the hot summer. Homes are being built in these areas and in doing so have put the homeowners in harm’s way. Government must allow the management of our forests and the brush areas to help prevent the spreading of fires in these tinderbox areas. More legal clearing of undergrowth in forests and elimination and removal of brush in all areas must be done to lessen the danger of these massive fires. Coordination between Federal lands, state, and local lands must be done. The private homeowners have a stake in this and should be at that table.
I have news for those cities and counties that are protecting convicted violent criminals. Jurisdictions that are using a sanctuary status to protect these convicted violent felons (that are in the US illegally) from deportation will suffer the legal consequences. California will NOT be a sanctuary state while Lodge is Governor. No community wants convicted violent felons to be dumped back in their neighborhoods when they are supposed to be deported.
Cap and Trade is the career politicians’ scheme to tax manufactures, factories, and refineries emissions. Forcing them to buy these phony carbon credits from the state. But really is just another state-run Paris Accord type agreement that punishes our businesses in California and drives up the price of everything, which of course gets passed on to you the consumer. It must be eliminated immediately. We must stop our businesses from fleeing to other states, by making it easier to do business in California.
High Speed Rail
Californians were sold a Ferarri and Newsom is trying to deliver them a Yugo. We will not take delivery. So let me make this very clear, we will no longer waste California and the American taxpayer’s money. The California High Speed Rail will be Eliminated. Local counties and cities will determine their own transportation needs and coordinate these needs with the state.
